SGPGI to pay Rs 15.65 lakh for causing death due to wrong medication and failing to maintain proper records

New Delhi: In a medical negligence case, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has upheld an earlier order of UP State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of awarding Rs 15.65 lakh compensation to the family of a woman who died due to wrong medication.

Dr Tehemton Udwadia gets Padma Bhushan; Dr Mukut Minz, Dr Bhakti Yadav, Dr M M Godbole, Dr Devendra Patel, Dr Suniti Solomon get Padma Shree

New Delhi: Dr Tehemton Erach Udwadia, a renowned medical teacher, noted gastroenterologist and widely regarded as the father of laparoscopic surgery in India, has been selected for Padma Bhushan, the country’s third highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian medicine. He is among the 89 notable personalities to get Padma awards in 2017.

Bangalore hospital to check taboos on skin diseases

Bangalore: CUTIS Academy of Cutaneous Sciences has set up a research facility with tele-dermatology in its specialty hospital here to fight taboos in the countryside on skin diseases like psoriasis, leprosy, vitiligo and pigmentation.
