New Delhi: Cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy could soon benefit from a new AI (artificial intelligence) that is able to identify and predict the development of different combinations of symptoms – helping to alleviate much of the distress caused by their occurrence and severity.

Iodine deficiency during pregnancy adversely affects children’s mental development

London: A study of around 1,000 UK mothers and their children, published in The Lancet, has revealed that iodine deficiency in pregnancy may have an adverse effect on children’s mental development. The research raises concerns that the iodine status of pregnant women is a public-health issue that needs to be addressed.

Metal nanoparticles may improve cancer treatment

Sydney: An international team of researchers led by RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) University has investigated alternatives to gold nanoparticles, which have been shown to concentrate radiation used to treat cancer but are highly expensive and mildly toxic.
