Bioactive glass fillings to prolong tooth life

New York: Bioactive glass can be used in tooth fillings to reduce the ability of bacteria to attack composite tooth fillings, and perhaps even provide some of the minerals needed to replace those lost to tooth decay, engineers from Oregon State University said.

Tooth decay can be reversed without drilling and filling

Sydney: Preventative oral care can reduce the need for unpleasant dental drilling and filling by 30-50 percent, says a study. The findings suggest that tooth decay or dental caries can be stopped, reversed, and prevented without the need for the traditional ‘fill and drill’ approach that has dominated dental care for decades.
