Pfizer, Flynn Pharma fined £90 million for increasing epilepsy drug price by 2600%

London: UK’s primary competition and consumer authority, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has imposed a record £84.2 million fine on the pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer, and a £5.2 million fine on the distributor Flynn Pharma after finding that each broke competition law by charging excessive and unfair prices in the UK for phenytoin sodium capsules, an anti-epilepsy drug.

UK’s King’s College Hospital to set-up hospital in New Chandigarh

London: King’s College Hospital Management has signed a deal with Indo UK Healthcare to create an Indo-UK Institute of Health in New Chandigarh. Backed by £100 million of private investment this project is to create a new King’s College Hospital in New Chandigarh, according to a statement.
