Civil surgeon withholds medical officers’ pay for failure to identify quacks | States approve proposal to replace MCI
Bokaro Civil Surgeon Dr Sobhan Murmu has withheld salaries of medical officers in-charge of Community Health Centres (CHCs) of the district following their failure to submit a list of quacks active in the area.
Bangalore: Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, has instituted 11 faculty chairs at eight leading academic institutes, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), across India.

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has awarded a compensation of Rs 1.73 crore to be paid by three Kolkata doctors — Dr Sukumar Mukherjee, Dr Baidyanath Halder and Dr Balaram Prasad — and the Advanced Medicare Research Institute (AMRI) hospital in Kolkata to US-based Dr Kunal Saha for the death of his wife Anuradha Saha while undergoing treatment at the hospital in 1998.
