Indian company enters Russian market of implants for traumatology and orthopaedics

Moscow: Meril Life Sciences has become the first Indian manufacturer of high-tech implants for traumatology and orthopaedics to begin supply to Russia. The system of primary knee joint arthroplasty, entitled Freedom Total Knee, will be supplied to a number of medical institutions. It was presented to Russian doctors in February 2017 during their visit to India at Meril’s production site in Vapi, Gujarat.

‘India’s technical capability can support 3D printing’

Kharagpur (West Bengal): Dutch orthopaedic bio-engineering expert Nico Verdonschot, a foreign faculty member for India’s Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) programme, said the country’s technical capabilities could augment the 3D printing sector for profitably manufacturing implants.
