The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi will host the World Trauma Congress 2016 from August 17 to 20. According to a recent WHO report, by 2020, trauma will be the third largest killer in the developing world.
New Delhi (IANS): Cinema icons Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan were conferred the Padma Vibhushan — India’s second highest civilian honour — by President Pranab Mukherjee at an investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Wednesday.
New Delhi: India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma awards, would be conferred on 104 eminent people, including 16 doctors of modern medicine. They will receive the awards from President Pranab Mukherjee at a function in New Delhi in March or April, it was announced here on Sunday, on the eve of the 66th Republic Day.
New Delhi: Dr Savita Malhotra, head of the psychiatry department, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has been appointed new dean of the institute, by the governing body which was chaired by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan here on Wednesday. Dr Malhotra succeeds Dr Amod Gupta.
