Apollo Hospital, doctor directed to pay Rs 4 lakh to deceased patient’s family for medical negligence

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad and one of its doctors, Dr J M Gurunath, to pay Rs 4 lakh as compensation to Telangana resident K S Sastry whose wife died on November 24, 2000 due to alleged medical negligence.

SGPGI to pay Rs 15.65 lakh for causing death due to wrong medication and failing to maintain proper records

New Delhi: In a medical negligence case, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has upheld an earlier order of UP State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of awarding Rs 15.65 lakh compensation to the family of a woman who died due to wrong medication.

Indore hospital, radiologists ordered to pay Rs 15 lakh for negligence in ultrasound scan during pregnancy

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has ordered Vishesh Hospital, Indore and two of its radiologists — Dr Kaushalendra Soni and Dr G S Saluja — to pay Rs 15 lakh as compensation to the parents of a child who was born without her left hand and a kidney due to the “negligent and casual approach” of the radiologists in analysing the growth of the foetus, during pregnancy, through ultrasonography (USG).

Delhi hospital, doctors ordered to pay Rs 64 lakh for negligence in screening eyes of a premature baby

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has ordered Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, New Delhi and three of its doctors — Dr G S Kochhar (paediatrician), Dr Naveen Jain (paediatrician) and Dr S N Jha (ophthalmologist) — to pay Rs 64 lakh as compensation to the mother of a premature child for the doctors’ negligence in screening the infant’s eyes resulting in the infant becoming blind for life.

NCDRC directs two doctors to pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation for performing “unwanted” operation

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed Dr R K Chaudhary (surgeon) and Dr Veena Choudhary (gynaecologist) of Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) to pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the family of a woman, who died after they performed an “unwanted” operation removing her uterus 13 years ago.

Government hospital directed to pay Rs 15 lakh for transfusing wrong blood

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh to pay Rs 14.95 lakh to a woman for wrong blood transfusion resulting in foetal losses during her four pregnancies.

Apollo hospital fined Rs 1 crore for medical negligence

New Delhi (IANS): The national consumer forum has ordered Apollo Hospital to pay a compensation of Rs 1 crore to a couple for wrongful delivery of their child that caused permanent brain damage.

NCDRC awards Rs 1 crore compensation in a case of “medical negligence”

New Delhi: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi and its gynaecologist Dr Sohini Verma to pay Rs 80 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively as compensation to a doctor couple, whose baby suffered mental disability due to “negligence” of the doctor at the time of delivery more than 15 years ago.
