Young doctors bound by ‘Woefulness’

New Delhi: The prevailing conditions of the government hospitals in Delhi are hideous. Well known hospitals like AIIMS, Safdarjung and RML don’t have sufficient equipment for treatment. One bed is shared by two-three patients. Urine bags are kept in extremely dirty conditions. The ones who suffer the most are the “young doctors”.

‘Increasing the retirement age of doctors will further reduce job opportunities for young doctors’

New Delhi: While welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent announcement to increase the retirement age of government doctors across the country from the current 60 or 62 to 65, doctors say increasing the retirement age alone will not solve the problems of patients and doctors.

Doctors across India join hands against 7th Pay Commission, demand salary hike

New Delhi / Mumbai: Resident doctors in government hospitals want their Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) to be merged with the basic salary. They also want the NPA to be increased to 40 percent of the basic salary.

Resident doctors in government hospitals on strike over salaries, allowances

New Delhi: Doctors in government hospitals in Delhi went on a token strike on Thursday demanding revision of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and an increase in their salaries and allowances. They also threatened to go on an indefinite strike from June 1 if their demands are not met.
