Bombay High Court seeks CCTV footage of assaults on resident doctors

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Thursday asked the Maharashtra government to submit the CCTV footage of recent assaults on resident doctors in government hospitals at Dhule and Thane.

A bench of Chief Justice Manjula Chellur also asked the chief medical officers of Dhule and Thane hospitals to file affidavits on incidents of attack on doctors there in the recent past.

The court issued the directions while hearing a petition by activist Afaq Mandaviya seeking action against doctors who had gone on mass leave last month to protest the attacks.

The judges also asked the government and the Maharashtra Resident Doctors Association (MARD) to inform them about deficiencies in facilities provided to resident doctors at the hospitals, reports India.com.
