Govt planning to make doctors work in rural areas

Indore: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Faggan Singh Kulaste has said Centre is mulling to make it mandatory for doctors to work in rural areas for a stipulated time to overcome shortage and boost healthcare services there.

“We are thinking over making rules and regulation to ensure that doctors work in rural areas for a stipulated time. We are not averse to doctors practising in urban areas but we want to do away with their shortage in rural areas,” the minister reportedly said at a function here on Tuesday.

    Those people availing reservation should only be forced to work in rural areas. Time to give back the favour. If you don’t want to work in rural area compulsorily opt out of getting selected under reserved category.
