Bengaluru: Browndove Healthcare, a renal healthcare company, on Monday inaugurated its state-of-the-art factory at Harohalli in Bengaluru.
According to the company, it’s the first factory in India dedicated to the manufacture of renal care consumables.
“Browndove strongly believes in reducing the pricing pressure on medical consumables without compromising on quality,” said A G Krishnaswamy, managing director, Browndove Healthcare.
The new facility will manufacture bloodline set, AV fistula needle, transducer protector and catheter to the highest quality standards, said Krishnaswamy.
The 25,000 square feet facility is planned to house 350 employees in one shift.
The factory is fully self sufficient in terms of machinery, sterilisation, testing lab and storage facilities, according to Krishnaswamy.
The facility has implemented many green initiatives such as recycling of wastewater, complete LED lighting and solar power.
Speaking about future expansion plans, Krishnaswamy said, “In our second phase of expansion, we are planning to implement a dedicated plant for the manufacture of the dialyser.”
“Keeping in line with our philosophy of lower costs, this will bring a great degree of cost benefit to the patients and help the country to reduce the current over dependence on imports,” added Krishnaswamy.
