AIIMS director Dr M C Misra has been accused of “misusing” his position in the appointment of Dr Umesh Kapil, professor of Human Nutrition Unit (non-clinical discipline), as the new head of the department of gastroenterology.

Chandigarh: The PGI Institute Body, headed by Union Health Minister J P Nadda, which met in New Delhi on Thursday, recommended PGI Head of Departments Dr Anil Bhansali (Endocrinology), Dr Meenu Singh (Paediatrics) and Dr Jagat Ram (Advanced Eye Centre) for appointment as the new director of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

AIIMS director accused of misusing position

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr M C Misra has been accused of “misusing” his position in the appointment of Dr Umesh Kapil, professor of Human Nutrition Unit (non-clinical discipline), as the new head of the department of gastroenterology. Dr Anoop Saraya, senior most professor of the department of gastroenterology on Thursday filed a complaint before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging the appointment.
