New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has invited applications for the post of director. The last date for submitting applications is November 15. The age of eligibility for applying for the position is 62 years as on November 15. Applicants may send their completed application forms to V Srinivas, deputy director, administration, AIIMS. Dr M C Misra, the current director, is superannuating on January 31 next year.

AIIMS Bhopal authorities shielding accused, cry ragging victims

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal students, who were victims of a ragging incident, have alleged that the AIIMS authorities are shielding main accused, as he is the son of one of a department head who happens to be a local and a powerful person. At least six first year students left the hostel after seniors allegedly ragged them and forced to consume liquor and beaten up upon refusal to comply with the order post-midnight on Friday.

Woman delivers child surrounded by 30 students at medical college

Patna: MBBS students at AIIMS Patna, who have been protesting against the Centre and the medical college administration since last Tuesday, claim they find themselves in “unusual situations” like witnessing a woman delivering a child, surrounded by 30 students, as a part of their clinical learning, because of lack of teaching space and manpower.

Dr Rakesh Kashyap appointed as Director, Health Services, Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Dr Rakesh Kumar Kashyap, an ophthalmologist, has been appointed as Director, Health Services (DHS), Chandigarh. Dr Kashyap, at present posted as Joint Director in the Punjab DHS office, will replace Dr Vanita Gupta, who superannuated on September 30.

Mumbai gynaecologist arrested for cheating city surgeon of Rs 2.5 crore

Mumbai: The Economic Offence Wing of Mumbai Police has arrested Dr Kirtikumar Shah, a 62-year-old Kandivli gynaecologist, for cheating Dr Deepak Patel, a 46-year-old Andheri surgeon, of Rs 2.5 crore. The accused conducted cash transactions for the sale of his Pratik Nursing Home at MG road junction in Borivli two years ago and later backed out.
