Bhopal: Fifteen doctors of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) on Monday resigned over six-year delay in implementing recruitment rules. Doctors decided to quit following visit of department of health research (DHR) joint secretary Manoj Pant. A delegation of doctors met him and tendered their resignations after DHR official was non-committal on fixed date for implementation of recruitment rules.
Jalandhar (Punjab): Dr Satpal Singh Sandhu, professor and head of department, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, Ferozepur, has received scholarship of over Rs 1 crore for his PhD research project to be conducted at the University of Bristol, UK.
Motihari (Bihar): The Nepal health ministry has sacked 35 doctors working in various government hospitals for procuring forged intermediate certificates from Bihar. All these doctors were recently arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police after the intermediate toppers scam surfaced in Bihar early this year.
Chandigarh: The Punjab Medical Council has suspended the registration of Dr Vijay Kumar Sharda and Dr Ved Prakash Gupta who were acting as “ghost faculty” in two separate medical colleges in Haryana. The orders for six-month suspension were issued at the direction of the Medical Council of India.
