PMC issues notice to IMA Punjab president for ‘taking money’ from pharma firms

Chandigarh: Punjab Medical Council has reportedly issued show-cause notices to IMA Punjab president Dr Surinder Pal Singh Sooch and former president Dr Manoj Sobti asking why their registration shouldn’t be cancelled for indulging in “unethical practice”.

The two top IMA office-bearers are in the dock for allegedly receiving money from pharmaceutical companies in their bank accounts, reports The Tribune.

While Dr Sooch allegedly received Rs 80,000 from Intas Pharmaceutical and Rs 1 lakh from Sanofi India, Dr Sobti allegedly received Rs 1.2 lakh from Torrent Pharmaceutical and Rs 20,000 from Ranbaxy Laboratories.
