Bihar govt to install MRI, CT scan machines under PPP mode

Patna: The state government plans to install MRI and CT scan machines under the public-private participation (PPP) mode in all the government medical colleges and district hospitals of the state, Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav said in his budget speech in the state assembly on Thursday.

The minister further said that the state government would establish a state cancer institute on the premises of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna. Besides, a tertiary care cancer centre each would be opened at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (Bhagalpur) and Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital.

The state government would also establish a 100-bed superspecialty hospital for women and children at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital in Patna, reports ToI quoting Yadav.
