CBI raids former UP health minister Anant Mishra

Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday raided the residences and other premises of former Uttar Pradesh health minister Anant Mishra in connection with a corruption case, officials said.

The CBI raided Anant Mishra’s (also known as Antoo) residences in Lucknow and Kanpur for his alleged role in the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.

Besides a large number of documents and files, the officials also confiscated a hard drive from Kanpur, informed sources said.

Mishra, who was close to former chief minister Mayawati, was interrogated twice by the investigation agency in Lucknow last month.

Two days ago, Mishra’s former cabinet colleague Babu Singh Kushwaha and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator R P Jaiswal were named in the second chargesheet filed by the CBI in the NRHM scam at a Ghaziabad court.

Kushwaha and Jaiswal are accused of embezzling Rs 43 crore.

Mishra is also being questioned in the killings of Dr B P Singh and Dr Vinod Arya — both senior medical officials — who were allegedly bumped off after they began probing irregularities in the purchases made under NRHM. [Source: IANS]

for any thing & every thing we hear that – c b i is investigating , at times by reiterated judges . what is role c b i , how it functions, how effective , the successes & failure rates . the sensational cases it solved . why it failed to solve a simple case of arushi murder . does the c b i take the help of medical professionals – psychologist \ psycho trysts . is there any role technology like brain mapping , narco analysis, polygraph y are they useful tests or just dummy devices ( waste money & time) . with too much delay the cases get diluted , loses it’s charm . and people loose interest & faith in the system. i heard a news about ex- health minister dr.amboomani ramdoss involving in corruption charges , what is the out come ? is there any site where we can look in to results of c b i. 6 years ago there was p g scandal in rajiv gandhi university of health sciences ( rguhs) . what is conclusion ???? . i failures rate in the practical exams conducted by rguhs is very minimal ( , despite failing miserably in theory . it is an open secrete majority of the students \ as well as teachers bunk classes in a big way . with out much teaching or learning . still they get through the exams . is there any thing wrong to introduce biometric attendance for each every staff & students alike. ( in most colleges there are any classes conducted \ attended ‘ still they get eligibility for attending exams ) why can’t we introduce multiple choice questions at least for 50 % marks . ( most often the paper correction is done with callus attitude because of great hurry to go back home specially by the external examiners ) . there should be a centre or an agency to receive the complaints , revive & respond with in a stipulated time. the individuals who pass on information should be rewarded by making them a members in m c i & other governing committees .( instead of nominating some silly guys ) . than only we see some changes in future . other wise the same filth will continue for ever.
