Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi has installed High Throughput Integrated Platform DxC 880i, an advanced diagnostic equipment that would reduce sample processing time by 40 per cent. The equipment, used for parallel tests to be conducted through single tube of collected sample, can process nearly 1,840 pathology tests per hour.
The machine can process a blood sample for glucose (chemical test) and thyroid levels (Immunoassay test) simultaneously in just 42 seconds. Earlier, samples taken from a patient had to be separately tested for various chemical parameters like sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, calcium, glucose, albumen, phosphorous and urea and a separate sample would undergo Immunoassay tests.
“The DXC 880i is the first high throughput Integrated work cell to be installed in India for combined testing of chemistry and Immunoassay tests from a single patient tube capable of delivering 1,840 tests per hour (1,440 chemistry and 400 Immunoassay tests per hour),” Dr Poonam S Das, director, laboratory medicine, Max Healthcare, has said.
