I am very much impressed with the Alatimes, regularly published and updated, useful information is provided along with the news in medical sciences.I would appreciate if this venture speaks about the improvement in the medical research especially in the direction of drug research.
Any active principle obtained from the biological kingdom or from the laboratory needs a preliminary
screening on animals. and thousand of postgraduates are doing the thesis work in Pharmacology and other allied sciences.Greatest handicap in the research is the imposition of animal cruelty act.that has hampered this research work in most of the medical colleges of the country.,affecting the quality of research in this field . Some one must take this lead and facilitate this obstruction of the research activity
At least all the govt.Medical colleges and private medical colleges should be given permission for use of animals in addition to the rats, rabbits, mice guinea pigs as the animals like dogs and cats which are easily available on streets on streets . These bigger animals are sturdy enough to withstand the experiment and give consistent results. Some body must make an effort in this direction.
As a Pharmacologist I sincerely feel ,this will improve the quality of research in medical science and will help in training the post graduate for experimental research, which is and alphabet of research.

In sixties ,a senior medical educationist during deliberations in a class asked me which two journals would you prefer to read regularly as a professional and teacher in medicine? My reply was BRITISH MEDICAL JOURNAL & LANCET. Unprecentended upheaval in science, trends and values and in art of practice have taken place. As a senior functionary of earlier days and regular update level interests of today, I foresee INDIA MEDICAL TIMES may be addictive medical journal of this century.

India Medical Times is excellent….quite focused and update on all Medical matters and current news. Interviews with luminaries and unsung doctors who have quietly accomplished so much……makes us proud to belong to the doctor community as I still believe that if there is any compassion left in this world and any unrewarded honest effort going on it is with us, as DOCTORS….!! Dear India Medical Times
I wish to add another testimonial for India Medical Times to the long list of testimonials written by other doctors . I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon. I am happy to note that India Medical Times has brought out the facts about surface replacement of the joints. Joint Replacement has become very popular in the recent times. The immediate results are excellent because ” Na rahe ga bans, na baje ki bansari”. Once a joint is replaced by plastic on one side and steel on other side, the immediate results are obviously no pain in the joint after the operation for which the operation of Joint Replacement is done. But no body reports about the long term results. Is it possible that we do not replace the joints and at the same time the patient is relieved of the pain in the joint? In my article published by India Medical Times as below I have indicated that another method of treatment of the old joints is to find out the cause of pain and treat that.
http://www.indiamedicaltimes.com/2013/10/17/doctor-tries-to-make-a-difference-beyond-medicine/
This is what I have been doing in my Orthopaedic practice for the last 10 years. Some of the patients who were advised for joint replacement did not need joint replacement

There was a crying need for a periodical that could timely acquaint the medical profession of the relevant and important developments which have a bearing on the profession as a whole and enable it to crystallize appropriate priorities in an apposite manner. This newsportal has addressed that with commendable results. We can confidently state that because of this laudable tool at our disposal ,we stand better informed about the direction the profession is headed towards. What is specially praiseworthy is that it does not shrink from highlighting the controversial issues of topical importance not just in India but in other countries as well, that need to be competently debated.
