AthenaHealth to acquire medical applications developer Epocrates for $293 million

Washington: AthenaHealth, a leading provider of cloud-based electronic health record (EHR), practice management, and care coordination services to medical groups and health systems, on Monday announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire mobile medical applications developer Epocrates for $293 million. The deal is expected to close early in the second quarter of 2013.
