Medical ethics body’s president attends court hearing in corruption case

New Delhi: Dr Ketan Desai, who was recently installed as president of the World Medical Association (WMA), appeared in a New Delhi court on Friday to attend a hearing in a case where he faces charges of corruption. The next hearing in the case will be held on February 6.

There are even many who have been elected to top political posts in their respective countries. We come across such news and names frequently. However, it is a rare sight to see a person being acclaimed and celebrated for his incessant and invaluable contributions from the humble facilities of our motherland. Dr Ketan Desai, who has recently been appointed as the president of ‘World Medical Association’ for 2016 is one such person!

NGO appeals PM for bringing Desiraju back to Health Department

New Delhi: People for Better Treatment (PBT), a Kolkata-based charitable organisation devoted to fight healthcare corruption and medical negligence, has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to bring back Health Secretary Keshav Desiraju, who was transferred “allegedly due to his strong stance against corruption and refusal to pave the way for another return of disgraced ex-president of Medical Council of India (MCI), Dr Ketan Desai” and his supporters to helm of Indian health regulatory system.
