Mumbai: The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has reportedly given conditional access to new tuberculosis drug bedaquiline to battle drug-resistant TB.
New Delhi: According to the Annual WHO Global TB Reports, the estimated proportion of multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) cases among new cases in India has been 2.1 per cent, 2.2 per cent and 2.2 per cent in years 2011, 2012 and 2013, respectively. These proportions are much less than high MDR-TB burden countries, Union Health Minister J P Nadda informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
