Medical college directed to pay Rs 25 lakh each to 150 students | At premier hospitals, a third of patients say not satisfied

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered the management of Dr M C Saxena Medical College in the city to pay Rs 25 lakh damage per student for “wrongly admitting” 150 of them in the MBBS 2015-16 course.

JIPMER to help develop bridge course for Ayush physicians

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) and IKP Centre for Technologies in Public Health (ICTPH) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which ICTPH will develop a bridge course for Ayush physicians with the help and technical support of JIPMER.

Health ministry shelves proposal of mandatory rural posting for MBBS doctors

New Delhi: The union health ministry has reportedly shelved the proposal of mandatory rural posting for MBBS doctors and is now considering to legally permit practitioners of the Indian Systems of Medicine (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) to practise allopathy in rural areas by getting the required permissions from the Medical Council of India (MCI).
