IGIMS to serve as nodal TB centre in Bihar

Patna: Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, will be the nodal tuberculosis (TB) centre in the state under the government’s Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP).

The nodal centre will function as an advisory healthcare institute and referral centre for multi-drug resistant (MDR) TB and extensively drug resistant (XDR) TB.

IGIMS has already treated 4,267 TB cases, including 399 of MDR TB, between October 2015 and September 2016, reports ToI.
