Dr D S Rana, chairperson, department of nephrology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, has been appointed as the new chairman of the hospital’s board of management. One of the key goals of the new chairman is to create a postgraduate institute of medical education and research at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
“Our vision will be to take this great institution to towering heights comparable to the best in the world like the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and Harvard School of Medicine. Thus, I believe with this vision Sir Ganga Ram hospital could become the Mecca of tertiary healthcare,” said Dr D S Rana in his address to the staff of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
“Our main focus will be to strengthen our present physical infrastructure during next five years, so that proper physical space with adequate infrastructure can be provided to the departments which have been given the status of institutions,” added Dr D S Rana. “Under public private partnership model, we will endeavour for our presence outside this hospital.”
